Silvana × Canton: A New Era of Provable Business Data

Silvana has made a major step in reshaping how institutions handle finance: we are now part of the Canton Network as a validator!

It’s a milestone that combines Silvana’s provable business data and zero-knowledge orchestration with Canton’s privacy-first, institution-grade infrastructure.

Silvana: Provable Operations for Business Data

Silvana is built around a simple principle: make everything provable.

Enterprises generate enormous amounts of financial, operational, and compliance data, but traditional systems force them to either overshare or hide it.

Silvana offers a third path: convert this data into cryptographically provable objects.

  • Provable data objects turn enterprise records into states that can be mathematically verified instead of raw information.

  • Agent network extends workflows with programmable and decentralized entities to automate the lifecycle of transactions.

  • Every app is a zkRollup so each execution is modular, private, and auditable, with full control over logic, data, and deployment.

  • Abstraction of complexity hides the technical burden of proof systems and execution layers, empowering enterprises to focus on outcomes, not infrastructure.

  • SQL-compatible provable database connects to existing enterprise databases and enables familiar SQL queries, but adds cryptographic audit trails and enforced business logic.

  • Deployment freedom gives enterprises the choice to run Silvana in the cloud or inside secure enclaves, with sub-second performance designed for speed and cost efficiency.

  • Layered privacy protects data at every step using ZKPs, TEEs, and multiparty computation, while supporting SQL queries and multiple data sources.

  • Enterprise-ready and cost-effective modular architecture reduces overhead and accelerates growth with rapid rollup execution.

With these strengths, Silvana is ready to anchor the next generation of financial systems.

Introducing Canton

Canton is a privacy-enabled blockchain protocol and network designed for regulated markets. It connects applications written in Daml so firms can synchronize assets, data, and cash across organizational boundaries, without exposing everything to everyone.

In June 2025, Digital Asset closed a $135 million funding round, backed by leading financial players including Tradeweb and DRW, to Accelerate Adoption of Canton Network.

Think of it as interoperability with selective visibility, built for finance.

  • Privacy by default. Every contract lives in a private domain. Only the involved parties see the data.

  • Smart contracts in Daml. Daml is built to reflect real legal agreements – with signatories, witnesses, amendments, and enforceable rights coded directly.

  • No global consensus. Each domain reconciles only the contracts it shares, avoiding the scalability and compliance issues of global validators.

  • Selective disclosure. Regulators, auditors, or counterparties can see exactly what they need, nothing more.

  • Institutional track record. Canton already underpins large-scale pilots in bonds, collateral, cash registries, and asset tokenization.

Why this matters to enterprises: Canton has been co-developed and adopted alongside major financial institutions, and the ecosystem continues to scale with fresh investment and deployments.

Canton’s value is clear: it enables a network of networks where banks, asset managers, insurers, and enterprises can collaborate while keeping control of their data.

What Silvana brings to Canton Network

Silvana turns public and private business data into cryptographically provable objects and orchestrates them across execution, proving, data availability, coordination, and settlement – delivering cloud-grade speed without sacrificing privacy.

On Canton, we plug that superpower into Daml-based workflows:

  • Crypto as Signature: We run heavy crypto in TEE/MPC and output signatures that Canton natively accepts – so institutions get advanced cryptography with Canton-level compliance.
  • Daml-enforced ZK rules: Daml escrow contracts verify proofs and enforce business logic; happy-path actions are simple, while disputes trigger escrow agents to verify proofs deterministically.
  • Agent ecosystem: Proving, Oracle, AI, Automation, Blockchain, Settlement Agents and more – extend Daml apps with verifiable data, execution, and settlement flows.
  • TEE-secured private data: All private data is processed inside TEEs with strict key management, ensuring confidentiality throughout.
  • ZK Rollup Settlement: Witnesses sign zkRollup state proofs and anchor them across chains. This creates timestamped certainty while keeping confidential data private to eligible parties.
  • Cross-chain asset control: Daml contracts can securely manage assets and smart contracts on other blockchains using secure hardware and distributed key-sharing.
  • Selective disclosure & staged verification: Each participant sees only its state and proof, while witnesses can anchor salted roots across chains for independently verifiable timestamps.

Why Silvana and Canton Fit

On their own, Canton and Silvana are impressive. Together, they are transformative. Canton offers a private, legally aligned environment where institutions can transact safely. Silvana adds the proofs, the agents, and the rollup engine that make every action verifiable.

Opportunities for Institutions

For forward-looking institutions, the opportunity is clear. With Silvana on Canton you can:

  • Tokenize assets with real, verifiable backing.
  • Run compliance and audit continuously instead of quarterly.
  • Access liquidity with proofs instead of spreadsheets.
  • Structure deals with role-based disclosures that protect sensitive data.
  • Move confidently between private domains and public blockchains, always with provable outcomes.

The Path Forward

We’re inviting forward-looking banks, asset managers, insurers, and corporates to join us in shaping this new standard. If you’re ready to explore tokenization, continuous audit, or confidential settlement on Canton with Silvana’s proof layer, let’s talk.
